Building fantastic software is hard. It’s an exercise in creativity, communication, research, design, collaboration, team building. And it’s complex, because so much of it happens in our head, an intangible space that we make real. It can be reigning order out of chaos.
On top of all this, your customer, your boss, your company is relying on you. Most often, relying on you to get it right the first time. Getting it right is hard.
I’m writing this professional journal to bring you my own lessons. From my early startups in the late 1980’s, to working with Steve Jobs at NeXT Computer in the 90’s, and running professional services at Lightbend. More recently, as a Director at Accenture I led some of the most amazing cloud modernization teams, and we built some incredible software. And as a CTO, now I focus on what I love: Building hyper-performing teams that deliver software, successfully, every single time.
